Table Beet Fortuna

A Reliable Choice for Commercial Production

The 'Fortuna' beet variety is a product of the Russian breeding school, developed by specialists from the Educational and Scientific Center 'Vegetable Experimental Station' and the Federal Scientific Center for Vegetable Growing. The variety has evolved from experimental plots in Ustinovo to a recognized tool for professional vegetable growers. Its value lies in the predictability of the result, which is critical when planning a harvest.

Agronomic Potential and Characteristics

A ripening period of 90–100 days classifies 'Fortuna' as a mid-early variety. This makes it convenient for continuous cultivation, as the crop manages to form a marketable root by the time peak demand for fresh produce occurs. Key parameters of the variety include:

• Shape and Color: It features a classic round shape, highly valued by retailers for ease of packaging and processing. The flesh is a rich dark red without pronounced rings, which is essential for the processing industry and culinary applications.
• Application: The variety demonstrates rare flexibility, showing excellent results both when grown for bunching early in the season and for long-term winter storage.

The dense structure of the root ensures good shelf life during winter storage, allowing farmers to sell their harvest over an extended period while waiting for favorable market conditions. The 'Fortuna' variety is not about experimentation but about confident agronomy, where high yield marketability and compliance with end-consumer quality standards are the key factors.
