The Baron beet is a mid-season, high-yield table beet variety that matures within 95-110 days from germination to technical maturity. This variety features a compact leaf rosette, and the root has an oval shape with a smooth surface and a weight ranging from 250 to 350 grams. The beet pulp is dark red in color, homogeneous, without ringed zones partitioning, tender and juicy, which gives it an excellent taste and makes it versatile for various types of processing and culinary use.
The Baron beet has a high content of dry matter (not less than 17%) and sugars (not less than 9%), as well as contains betanin in an amount of 140 mg per 100 g of product. Nutritional value includes 8 g carbohydrates, 1.7 g proteins and 0.2 g fats per 100 g. Thanks to its beneficial properties, regular consumption of this beet contributes to lowering cholesterol levels in the blood, maintains the elasticity of blood vessels, stimulates bowel function and positively affects the overall tone of the body.
The roots of the Baron variety are resistant to diseases during storage, which ensures a long storage period of up to 15 days. The beet is ideal for use in ready-made dishes, salads and other recipes, thanks to its juiciness and taste qualities. This variety is an excellent choice both for home consumption and for industrial processing.
