Ural Raffinad is a high-yield single-stem hybrid of table beet, known for its excellent storage life of root crops during winter storage. This mid-season variety matures in approximately 110 days and is suitable for growing both at home and on a country plot. The root crops have an oval shape, a smooth surface, and a deep red rich color with a thin skin. The flesh is uniform, without rings and coarse fibers, rich in sugars, and retains its color during thermal processing, making the beet ideal for home cooking and processing.
The leaf rosette of Ural Raffinad is compact and erect, which facilitates plant care. The hybrid is distinguished by high resistance to most diseases, as well as good adaptability to various climatic conditions. To obtain a stable and high-quality harvest, it is recommended to grow beets on fertile soils with a neutral reaction. In autumn, the area under beets is fertilized with manure and limed if necessary, while complex mineral fertilizers are applied in the spring.
Sowing seeds is carried out from early May to mid-June at a depth of 2-4 cm with a row spacing of 25 cm and a distance between plants of 8 cm. Growing seedlings is also possible: sowing at the end of April with subsequent transplanting of hardened seedlings into open ground after a month. Regular watering, loosening, and fertilizing are required for successful growth. Seeds can also be sown under winter conditions at the end of October to early November. Thanks to its characteristics and ease of care, Ural Raffinad is a reliable choice for obtaining tasty and nutritious beets with excellent shelf life.
