The vegetable pea variety Karina is an early-maturing, high-yielding variety that matures in an average of 45-65 days after emergence. Plants reach a height of 60-70 cm, have a compact form and dark green leaves with a waxy coating. The flowers are small and white, and the pods are straight, about 8 cm long, containing 8-10 medium-sized peas with a vibrant green color at technical maturity. Karina peas are distinguished by their high sugar content, which gives the peas a delicate, sweet taste highly valued for both fresh consumption and processing.

This variety is versatile in use: it can be consumed fresh, used for preparing first and second courses, or frozen and canned. Due to its resistance to fusarium and relative tolerance to low temperatures, Karina is suitable for cultivation in both home gardens and commercial scales. The yield of this variety reaches 88 centners per hectare, with a green pea yield from pods of approximately 48%.
