Uniformity of root crops, high taste and market qualities
Efio — a medium-maturing variety of table beet. Leaf rosette is semi-erect and upright, of small size. The roots of the Efio variety are round, dark red, free of ringed appearance, smooth, weighing 200-350 g. Flesh is tender and juicy. The root is two-thirds buried in soil, central taproot is thin and unbranched, easily pulled out of soil. Roots have uniform shape. Table beet Efio is sown directly into the ground. Beet seeds are sown 6-7 days after the start of field works, to avoid low temperatures (2-3 °C) which cause seedling yellowing. Recommended to use precision seeders for sowing. Sow single row every 45 cm, strips 40+40+60 cm, wide bands 6-8 cm with rows 45 cm apart. Estimated seeding rate for medium-maturing table beet Efio is 8-12 kg/ha. Seed sowing depth — 3-4 cm. Medium-maturing table beet Efio variety does not require thinning. The value of the Efio variety — high yield (50-70 t/ha) and yield of marketable roots, good storability during winter storage, excellent taste qualities both at the beginning and end of storage.
