Institute of Crop Production named after V. Ya. Yuryev, Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops, Novi Sad, Serbia, NPF "Drayada". Registered in the Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine since 2007 for the Steppe and Forest-Steppe Zones of Ukraine.
Trial characteristics: Variety — striped. Plant height 170-175 cm. Heads large, flattened shape, diameter 19-24 cm. Husking 22.5-23.7%, shelliness 99.8%. 1000 seed mass 61.3 g.
Biological features: Hybrid belongs to the medium-early maturity group, vegetation period duration 109-110 days. Characterized by uniform flowering and ripening. Has high drought resistance, low shattering, resistant to lodging. Genetically resistant to fox moth and false powdery mildew, tolerant to gray and white rot, and to Phomopsis. Hybrid intended for oilseed use.
A distinctive feature of the hybrid is high oleic acid content 68.1-78.02%, which is prioritized for use of such oil in the food industry, confectionery, and pharmacy.
Yield and quality: In the competitive trials of the institute 2001-2004, seed yield was 37.1-38.2 centners per hectare, exceeding the "Kovcheg" standard by 7.1-9.2 centners per hectare. Oil content in seeds 49.17-50.56%. Mother-line yield 18-21 centners per hectare. Percentage of conditioned seeds 65-70%. Parental lines are sown simultaneously on hybridization plots.
