Institute of Plant Growing named after V. Ya. Yuryev. Registered in the Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine since 2007 for the Steppe and Forest-Steppe Zones of Ukraine.
Trial characteristics: Variety — striped. Plant height 165-180 cm. Heads are large, flattened, 18-24 cm in diameter. Husking 21-22.5%, shelliness 99.7%. 1000 seed mass 71.5-77 g. Biological features: Hybrid belongs to the early-maturing group, vegetation period duration 107-108 days. It features uniform flowering and ripening. It has high drought resistance, low shattering during standing, and resistance to lodging. It has genetically determined resistance to cutworm and false powdery mildew, and tolerance to gray and white mold. Hybrid is for oilseed use.
Yield and quality: In the competitive trials of the Institute from 2001-2004, seed yield was 39.7-41.6 centners per hectare, exceeding the standard Kovech by 7.5-8.6 centners per hectare. Oil content in seeds 49.7-50.14%. Mother line yield 21.0-23.2 centners per hectare. Proportion of conditioned seeds 65-70%. Parental lines are sown simultaneously in hybridization plots.
