Almera is a simple early-maturing sunflower hybrid developed for the Express technology under the herbicide Granstar (tribenuron-methyl, 50 g/ha). The vegetation period is approximately 100-110 days, allowing for harvest within a short timeframe. Plants reach a height of 170-178 cm, with a flat, half-upward facing head measuring 25-26 cm in diameter. The hybrid features a strong stem and nearly vertical head inclination, contributing to resistance against lodging and shattering. Seeds are supplied in bags of 150,000 units, designed for sowing on areas of 2.2-2.5 hectares, treated with fungicides, microfertilizers, and growth stimulators to enhance germination and protection. Almera is characterized by high yield and maximum head fill. The potential yield reaches 5.6 t/ha (56 c/ha), with an average yield of around 3.4 t/ha. It is an intensive-type hybrid, ensuring a stable and high output under intensive and semi-intensive cultivation technologies. Oil content in seeds reaches 54%, making it profitable for oilseed production. Recommended planting density varies by region: for the Polissia region — 60-65 thousand plants per hectare; for the Forest-Steppe and Steppe regions — 50-55 thousand plants per hectare. Almera exhibits high resistance to adverse factors, including drought, false powdery mildew, rust, fomopsis, fomosis, gray and white mold. Additionally, the hybrid is resistant to bird damage (A-E, 5 classes), ensuring reliable cultivation across various soil-climate conditions in Ukraine. Thanks to these qualities and adaptability to the Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe regions, Almera is an optimal choice for farmers aiming to achieve a stable and high-quality sunflower harvest.
