Stability of Ukrainian Breeding in the Field

When an agronomist aims to minimize risks, they choose time-tested solutions. The Vsesvit hybrid, developed by the V. Ya. Yuriev Plant Production Institute of the NAAS, is the Ukrainian answer to the regional phytopathological threats. It is not an experimental product, but a tool for those who prioritize predictable results.

Defensive Potential Against Key Diseases

The main strength of Vsesvit lies in its genetic resistance to a complex of soil-borne and airborne infections. Unlike many international hybrids that may falter under the pressure of local broomrape races or specific rots, this hybrid demonstrates high tolerance to:

• Sclerotiniosis and white rot;
• Grey mold;
• Peronosporosis (downy mildew);
• Sunflower broomrape.

Resistance to peronosporosis is not just a spec sheet entry here, but a real advantage, allowing for potential savings on fungicide applications during humid growing seasons.

Agronomic Markers and Performance

With a 100–110 day vegetation period, this hybrid is classified as mid-early. This is an optimal window for most regions of Ukraine, allowing the crop to avoid extreme late-summer heat. The head is flat and large, which facilitates clean threshing during harvest. The grey-striped seeds accumulate 45–50% oil content, a respectable figure for a hybrid focused on extensive and semi-intensive farming technologies.

Who is this hybrid for?

Vsesvit does not require excessive mineral fertilizer inputs to deliver a strong yield. It is an ideal choice for farms seeking harvest stability without overspending on high-cost seed stock. If your strategy combines reliability in high-pressure infectious environments with moderate production costs, this hybrid will prove its value in your fields.
