Originator:
Institute of Plant Growing named after V. Ya. Yuryev. Registered in the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine since 2002 for steppe and forest-steppe zones.
Trial characteristics: Variety — Small-seeded Chernenka. Plant height 155-158 cm. Baskets large, convex shape, diameter 18-23 cm. Huskiness 20.01%, shelliness 100%. 1000 seed mass 61-62 g.
Biological features: Hybrid belongs to the early-maturing group, vegetation period duration 105-106 days. Distinguished by uniform flowering and ripening. Resistant to lodging and drought tolerance. Resistant to wolf and false powdery mildew, tolerant to gray and white mold. Hybrid intended for oilseed use.
Yield and quality: In the competitive trials of the institute (1996-1999), seed yield was 37.2 centners per hectare, exceeding the standard Svetoch by 4.9 centners per hectare. Potential yield 41.1 centners per hectare. In 2000, the hybrid Eniy confirmed high seed yield in competitive trials. Oil content in seeds 54.1-55.0%. A distinctive feature of the hybrid is high oleic acid content (89-90%), which is prioritized for use in the food industry. Maternal line yield 15.2-18.9 centners per hectare. Proportion of marketable seeds 55.0%. For full pollination of the maternal line, paternal lines must be sown in two rows on hybridization plots. The maternal line should be sown only after the emergence of cotyledons of the parental line.
