Originator:
Institute of Crop Science named after V.Ya.Yuryev, LLC Scientific-Production Agrocorporation "Stepna". Registered in the Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine since 2007 for the steppe zone of Ukraine.
Trial characteristics: Variety — Chernyanka small-seeded. Plant height 160-165 cm. Baskets large, deformed shape, diameter 18-22 cm. Seeds black, spherical — elongated. Husk 21.7-22.1%, shelliness 99.6%. 1000 seed mass 48.7-49.5 g.
Biological features: Hybrid belongs to the early-maturing group, vegetation period duration 101-105 days. Distinguished by uniformity in plant height and basket ripening. Genetically determined resistance to wolf and false powdery mildew, tolerant to gray and white rot, and to Phomopsis. Due to early basket ripening, the hybrid practically does not require plant desiccation. Hybrid for oil use. Yield and quality: In the competitive trials of the institute 2001-2004, the average seed yield of the hybrid was 35.9-36.1 c/ha, exceeding the "Kovcheg" standard by 3.8 c/ha. Oil content in seeds 49.10-49.62%. Oleic acid 34%, allowing production of high-quality oil. Mother line yield 14.2-18.7 c/ha. Percentage of conditioned seeds 55-60%. Parental lines are sown simultaneously on hybridization plots.
