Armageddon

Sunflower Armageddon is an early-maturing hybrid with a vegetative period of about 110 days, developed for the Clearfield technology (EuroLighting). This hybrid is characterized by high productivity and adaptability to various climatic conditions, making it an optimal choice for cultivation in the forest-steppe, steppe, and Polissia regions of Ukraine. Plant height reaches 170-180 cm, and the diameter of the flattened flower head is 21-23 cm, which contributes to the formation of large seeds and high yield.

The Armageddon hybrid has a high yield potential of up to 5.3 t/ha, with actual yield varying within the range of 3.2–4.2 t/ha. One of its key advantages is the high oil content of seeds, reaching 49-50%, which provides significant economic benefit during processing. In addition, the hybrid demonstrates resistance to major sunflower diseases, including fusarium, phomopsis, rust, false powdery mildew, gray and white rot, as well as sunflower downy mildew, significantly reducing the risk of yield losses.

Special attention has been paid to resistance to stress factors: the hybrid exhibits high drought tolerance and resistance to lodging and seed shattering. The use of imidazolinone herbicides (IMI) technology ensures effective weed control, contributing to stable and high-quality harvests. All these characteristics make sunflower Armageddon a profitable and reliable choice for commercial oilseed production.
