Description VAPITI
Vapiti is a sugar beet hybrid characterized by high resistance to rhizomania, powdery mildew, and cercosporosis, as well as tolerance to ramularia. This variety is distinguished by the good storage capacity of roots in the field, ensuring crop preservation during storage. The roots have a significant mass of approximately 711 grams and are well-embedded in the soil, which promotes their quality development and harvesting.

The hybrid is recommended for cultivation in various regions, including the Central Black Earth, Middle Volga, and Ural regions, as well as in the Voronezh and Penza oblasts. Under irrigation conditions, Vapiti demonstrates a high sugar yield with a content of approximately 16.9% and a root yield up to 596 centners per hectare, ensuring a sugar harvest of over 100 centners per hectare. Harvesting dates are medium-to-late, allowing for optimal planning of agricultural activities.

Over the years of testing, the hybrid showed weak infection by root rots, moderate infection by powdery mildew and cercosporosis, however, strong infection by rootworm is noted, which requires attention when protecting plants. Overall, Vapiti is a reliable choice for farmers seeking a high and quality yield of sugar beets with good resistance to major diseases.
