Description BASILIOUS
BASILIOUS — a sugar beet hybrid intended for cultivation in various regions of Russia, including the North Caucasus, Middle Volga, Ural, and Volga-Vyatsky regions, as well as the Penza region and the Republic of Tatarstan. This mid-late variety is characterized by high yield, reaching over 600 centners per hectare in some regions, and significant sugar content, making it attractive for industrial sugar production. The root crops have a wide-conical shape and a weight ranging from 665 to 828 grams, which facilitates harvesting and processing.

The Basilious hybrid has high resistance to diseases such as rhizomania and rhizoctonia, as well as moderate resistance to cercosporosis and high resistance to flowering. These qualities ensure yield stability even under unfavorable external conditions, which is particularly important for regions with a variable climate. The plant forms a root crop with firm white flesh containing a high percentage of sugar — from 18 to 20%, which meets modern quality requirements for sugar beets.

For successful cultivation of the hybrid, winter sowing is recommended, which ensures high efficiency of processing and optimal conditions for seed germination at temperatures of +10-12°C, as well as for growth and development at +20-22°C. Basilious is grown in open ground and can be used not only for sugar production but also as a fodder crop, expanding its application possibilities in agriculture.
