POLL 560 is a sugar beet variety designed for successful cultivation under various conditions. It belongs to medium-maturing varieties, ripening in approximately 110-120 days from seedling emergence. The plant prefers warmed soil and does not tolerate spring frosts, so sowing should be carried out after the threat of temperature drop has passed. For optimal growth, it is recommended to use loamy, nutrient-rich, and moist soils, cleared of weeds.
POLL 560 beet has cylindrical-shaped fruits with a pointed tip and a dark-red color with a smooth and even surface. Average fruit weight ranges from 200 to 450 grams, length reaches up to 20 cm, and diameter is from 4 to 7 cm. The flesh is tender and juicy, bright red or burgundy in color, without radial rings or veins. The taste is sweet and pleasant, persisting both after culinary processing and during storage.
To improve marketability and yield, which can reach 4-6 kg per square meter, it is recommended to thin out the crops and apply complex fertilizers no less than twice during the season. Fruits are easily harvested as they partially protrude from the ground, which facilitates transportation over any distances and allows using the beet both in fresh form and for long-term storage.
