Sugar beet Serenade

Genetic Potential and Crop Protection

The «Serenade» sugar beet hybrid by Betaseed is a specialized solution focused on mitigating biological risks while maintaining high yield potential. In modern intensive agriculture, managing disease pressure is paramount, and this hybrid offers a robust defense system, ensuring maximum sugar content at harvest.

Phytosanitary Profile and Resistance

The primary advantage of «Serenade» is its comprehensive immunity profile developed by Betaseed breeders to address critical threats:

• Cercospora Management: High genetic tolerance minimizes the need for heavy fungicide applications, keeping the canopy healthy and functional for longer, which prevents sugar accumulation drops.
• Root Rot Resistance: Excellent resistance to root rots ensures consistent stand establishment, preventing yield losses in high-pressure soil environments.
• Powdery Mildew Control: The hybrid effectively suppresses the development of mildew, maintaining photosynthetic efficiency even under humid or high-temperature conditions.

Morphology and Harvesting Efficiency

The cylindrical-conical shape of the «Serenade» root is a key technological feature. Its medium size provides an optimal ratio of mass to harvesting ease, allowing for cleaner extraction from the soil with minimal tail breakage. This design is specifically engineered to reduce mechanical losses during harvest and improve raw material quality delivered to sugar refineries. By utilizing Betaseed’s specialized genetics, producers gain consistent performance and stable root structure, ensuring that the harvested crop remains high-quality from field to processing facility.
