POLL FD 1006 is a high-quality sugar beet hybrid, featuring a cylindrical-conical root shape and an average weight of approximately 700 grams. The plant is characterized by a semi-rosy leaf rosette with 50-60 leaves, while the leaf blade is medium-sized, entire, and moderately corrugated. The root system is taprooted, penetrating deeply into the soil up to 2-2.5 meters and branching laterally up to 1-1.2 meters, which ensures good nutrition and plant stability. The root is fully embedded in the soil and has a relatively smooth surface, which facilitates harvesting and reduces soil adhesion.
The hybrid is distinguished by high resistance to major sugar beet diseases, such as Cercosporosis, powdery mildew, and root rot. It also shows resistance to extreme temperatures—both heat and cold, making it versatile for cultivation in various climatic zones, including the Polesie, Forest-steppe, and Steppe regions. The vegetation period lasts up to 120 days, while the sugar content of the roots reaches 18-19%, ensuring high efficiency in sugar and syrup production.
POLL FD 1006 has a universal waste-free purpose: all parts of the plant are useful and applicable. Roots are widely used in cooking for preparing borscht and kvass, and also serve as a feed crop with high nutritional value. In 100 kg of roots, there are 25 feed units and 1.2 kg of digestible protein, while the foliage provides 20 feed units and 2.2 kg of digestible protein. Additionally, the hybrid is used for technical purposes to produce sugar and syrup, making it a profitable and multifunctional agricultural product.
