DM 175 is a mid-season dihaploid hybrid sugar beet intended for cultivation in all regions of the beet-growing zone. This variety is distinguished by its high yield and sugar content, as well as better final plant density. The root has a cylinder-cone shape, with an average weight of about 700 grams. The head of the root is usually located above the field surface, and the root surface is relatively smooth, which reduces soil adhesion during harvesting.
The plant has high resistance to adverse weather conditions, including heat and cold, as well as diseases such as cercosporosis, powdery mildew, and root rot. The leaf rosette is semi-spreading, the leaf plates are medium-sized, whole and moderately corrugated. The root system is taproot, penetrating into the soil to a depth of 2-2.5 meters, which contributes to good nutrition and plant stability. The vegetative period is up to 120 days.
DM 175 has universal application: roots are used for the production of sugar and molasses, as well as in cooking for preparing borscht and kvass. Moreover, the culture is valued as a by-product feed, since all parts of the plant are useful and contain a significant amount of feed units and digestible protein. This makes the hybrid in demand in both technical, food, and feed production.
