Description Tisza
Sugar beet of the Tisza variety is a high-yielding crop with high potential for yield and sugar content. The plant features a medium-sized, semi-umbrella-shaped leaf rosette of dark green color. The root has a cylindrical-conical shape with a relatively smooth surface, facilitating harvesting and reducing soil adhesion. The average root weight is about 700 grams, and its depth of root placement in the soil reaches 85%, which contributes to good protection against adverse conditions. The variety is resistant to drought, cold, as well as diseases such as cercospora, powdery mildew, and root rot, ensuring its reliability and good storability.

Tisza is a heat-loving and heat-tolerant crop, with an optimal temperature for growth and development of 20-22°C; however, photosynthesis proceeds effectively even at temperatures above 40°C. The plant requires adequate moisture, especially during the intensive root growth period in July-August. Due to its well-developed taproot system, penetrating up to 2.5 meters deep, sugar beet can effectively utilize moisture from deep soil layers and withstand drought. Sugar beet seeds germinate at temperatures from +4 to +17°C, with emergence time depending on temperature and varying by 10-15 days.

Sugar beet Tisza is recommended for medium harvest periods and is widely used in culinary applications for making borscht and kvass, as well as serving as a by-product feed crop. Additionally, the variety has technical value as raw material for sugar and molasses production. Due to its resistance to adverse factors and high technological qualities, Tisza is a reliable choice for cultivation under various climatic conditions.
