Sugar beet variety Elodie is a diploid NZ-type that ensures high sugar yield and excellent productivity. In 2009 trials at the Man'kovsky DSS, root crop yield reached 77 tons per hectare with sugar content of 19%. This variety is resistant to various diseases: it is root rot resistant, moderately resistant to powdery mildew and cercosporosis, and also resistant to stem rust. Elodie is recommended for mid-season harvest, which allows optimal use of its agronomic advantages. Seeds are treated with Poncho Beta (Bayer) and packaged in 1 kg boxes, with seed quality confirmed by germination exceeding 90%, uniformity over 94%, purity over 99%, single-stem uniformity over 95%, and moisture content under 10%.
Moreover, Elodie is characterized by early maturity and is used for bunch production. The root crop has a round shape, dark red flesh with a purple tint, high juiciness, tenderness, and sweet taste. Thanks to these qualities, sugar beet is well preserved and widely used in home cooking, as well as suitable for dietary nutrition.
Elodie is a versatile variety that combines high productivity, disease resistance, and excellent taste. Its roots easily emerge from the soil, facilitating harvesting. The root mass and yield allow this variety to be used both for industrial sugar production and for fresh consumption, including pediatric and preventive nutrition.
