Sunflower Behemot

Stability and Adaptability of Spanish Breeding

The «Begemot» sunflower hybrid from Hibrisol S.L. (Spain) is designed for growers who prioritize predictable performance in intensive farming systems. The key strength of this simple hybrid lies in its genetic ability to maintain productivity despite fluctuating environmental conditions, making it a reliable choice for regions with volatile climates.

Agronomic Profile

The hybrid is specifically adapted for the Clearfield (Euro-Lighting) production system. This provides a robust solution for controlling challenging weeds and preventing broomrape infestations. With a vegetation period of 105–110 days, it allows for streamlined harvest scheduling, effectively avoiding late-season moisture issues.

• Morphology: A plant height of 160–180 cm ensures convenience during mechanical harvesting. The large, convex head supports consistent seed fill throughout the season.
• Yield Quality: The seeds are large and black, boasting an oil content of 48–52%, which is highly sought after by processing facilities for its excellent quality.

Why choose «Begemot»?

This hybrid is the optimal solution for farms utilizing the Clearfield herbicide tolerance technology. Its primary advantage is the combination of simplified weed control and high oil content. «Begemot» shows strong tolerance to drought, maintaining structural integrity and seed marketability. It is particularly recommended for fields with high weed pressure where traditional protection methods may be insufficient. It delivers exactly what modern farmers need: high-tech performance and reliable economic returns.
