Sugar beet of the Stabila variety is a single-seed diploid hybrid, characterized by stable high yield and significant sugar mass accumulation in the autumn period. This variety has a yield potential of up to 79 tons per hectare, average sugar content of 18.2%, and sugar yield of 12.2 tons per hectare. Stabila is recommended for cultivation in various climatic zones, including steppes, forest-steppes, and prairies, confirming its adaptability and resilience to different environmental conditions.
The root of the Stabila variety has a cylindrical-conical shape with a relatively smooth surface, facilitating harvest and reducing soil adhesion. The average weight of the root is about 700 grams, and the vegetation period lasts up to 120 days. The leaf rosette is semi-erect, with moderately corrugated medium-sized leaf blades. The root system is taprooted, penetrating to a depth of 2-2.5 meters, ensuring good plant water supply and contributing to its drought resistance.
Stabila exhibits high resistance to major sugar beet diseases such as cercosporosis, leaf spot, root rot, powdery mildew, and root rot. Additionally, the variety is resistant to drought and cold, capable of enduring frost down to -5°C without loss of quality or sugar accumulation. Thanks to these characteristics, sugar beet Stabila is widely used not only for sugar and syrup production but also in culinary applications for making borscht and kvass, as well as serving as a non-waste feed crop.
