Description BC-SID
BC-SID is a sugar beet hybrid developed by the laboratory of tetraploid sugar beet line selection at the Bila Tserkva Sugar Beet Research Institute, which has been engaged in creating and regionalizing high-yielding hybrids since 1958. The main research direction includes the genetic basis of improving the selection process and developing hybrids adapted to biologically adaptive cultivation technologies.

This hybrid is characterized by high root yield and high sugar content. The mass of one root reaches 900 grams, the yield is about 110 tons per hectare, and the sugar content is 18%. BC-SID shows good resistance to leaf diseases, allowing harvest in mid to late periods without loss of sugar quality. The hybrid demonstrates stable performance under various weather conditions.

For cultivation, it is recommended to sow at a rate of 1.3 p.e. per hectare with plant density of 90–115 thousand per hectare. The hybrid exhibits high resistance to major sugar beet diseases: rhizomania (99%), cercosporosis (69%), powdery mildew (79%), and phytophthora blight (79%). Seed production of this hybrid includes modern agronomic practices, use of organic and mineral fertilizers, as well as seed processing on high-capacity cleaning and drying complexes to ensure high-quality planting material.
