Venchaç — a sugar beet hybrid with high yield and sugar potential. Plants are characterized by single-stemmed growth, strong early growth, and uniform growth rate and habit. Roots are oval-conical in shape with 85% soil penetration, containing 17–18% sugar, ensuring yields of 45–60 tons per hectare. Leaf rosette is medium-sized, spreading, dark green. The variety is drought-resistant, cold-tolerant, disease-resistant, and has good storability, making it suitable for medium-term harvests.
The crop requires special attention to soil moisture, especially during seed germination, root formation, and root growth. Venchaç responds well to soil liming and prefers optimal acidity in the pH range of 6.5–7.5, not tolerating high acidity. Seed sowing is recommended at a depth of 6–7 cm when soil temperature reaches 6–8°C. Sowing rate is 1.2–1.8 seeding units per hectare, corresponding to a plant density of 85–100 thousand plants per hectare before harvest.
The hybrid Venchaç was developed and produced by «Sesvanderhawe» (Belgium) — the world’s largest seed breeder and producer of sugar beet seeds. The company carries out the full production cycle, including research, breeding, seed production, and processing, enabling the implementation of advanced technologies and ensuring high seed quality. In Ukraine, the company operates through its subsidiary «Sesvanderhawe-Ukraine», guaranteeing support and adaptation of hybrids to local growing conditions.
