Description Sugargraze
Sorghum variety Sugargraze is a medium-late hybrid with high sugar content in the grain, reaching 25% to 27%, as well as a significant protein level — from 12% to 18%. The average weight of 1000 seeds is about 35 grams, indicating seed size and quality. The yield potential of this variety is high and can reach 70–80 tons per hectare, making it attractive for agricultural production. The breeder of this variety is Alta Seeds, and packaging is done in bags, which is convenient for storage and transportation.

Moreover, Sorghum Sugargraze seeds contain a significant amount of allelochemicals, including phenolic compounds, glycosides, tannins, acids, and carbohydrates. These substances exert allelopathic effects, influencing the growth and development of other plants. Aqueous extracts from the seeds of this variety, at certain concentrations, can both inhibit and stimulate germination of other crops, such as peas and clover. At concentrations of 40–50%, germination energy and viability are suppressed by 15–42%, whereas at concentrations from 5 to 30%, extracts show stimulating and tolerant effects, improving the qualitative characteristics of test crop seeds.

Thus, Sorghum Sugargraze not only stands out for its high yield and quality grain composition but also possesses unique biochemical properties that can be utilized in agrotechnologies for managing the growth of companion plants. This makes the variety promising for comprehensive use in agriculture, considering its productivity and impact on agroecosystems.
