Sorghum Surprise

Sorghum «Surprise» – a white grain hybrid that is characterized by high plasticity and cold resistance. Due to the absence of tannins and excellent adaptability, it can be grown in any climatic conditions of the country. The grain has a light color, while plants reach an average height of 110–120 cm with a vegetation period of 115 to 125 days.

The crop possesses good drought resistance and deep root establishment (up to 2.5 m), which ensures stable growth even with limited water access. High planting density – approximately 120,000 plants per hectare – allows obtaining a yield of up to 12 t/ha under optimal conditions. The variety demonstrates excellent resistance to various diseases: fungal infection, smut, helminthosporiosis, fusarium and other pathogens.

«Surprise» is suitable both for grain and flour production and as a fodder crop. The grain can be used for human consumption, while the by-products – in the form of straw – are used as biofuel. The culture is an annual, easily managed in field areas, requires moderate care: loosening, weeding, and fertilizing if needed. Due to its characteristics, «Surprise» is a reliable choice for agrarians seeking high yields in various climatic zones.
