Sentinel IG Sorghum is a mid-season hybrid with high yield and excellent adaptability to various climatic conditions in Ukraine, including the south, center, and north. The vegetation period is approximately 115-120 days. The plant reaches a height of 90-105 cm and is characterized by a semi-transparent panicle with a dense structure. The grain is red, which is a distinctive feature of this variety. Recommended seeding rates vary depending on the region: 100-120 thousand seeds per hectare in the south, 120-140 thousand in the center, and 140-160 thousand in the north, provided that agronomic recommendations are followed. The Sentinel IG hybrid exhibits high resistance to major pests and diseases, including biotype C aphids, corn leafhoppers, anthracnose, rust, and false powdery mildew. Thanks to these qualities, as well as drought and lodging resistance, the variety demonstrates stable productivity even under adverse weather conditions. The plant’s high plasticity allows it to be effectively utilized in various agronomic systems. Protein content in the grain reaches 13%, and starch content is 75-80% on dry matter, making Sentinel IG Sorghum ideal for producing premium feed, as well as for food and spirit synthesis purposes. The yield of this variety can reach 9 tons per hectare under optimal growing conditions. The hybrid is recommended to be sown at normal moisture and temperature levels, ensuring maximum productivity and quality of the harvest.
