Yutami — is a promising hybrid of early-maturing grain sorghum, developed in the USA and certified to OECD standards. Plants reach a height of 1.0–1.1 meters and have a vegetative period of 100–105 days. The hybrid is characterized by high yield, exceeding 100 centners per hectare, making it attractive for cultivation under various climatic conditions.
The genetic feature of Yutami is its ability to germinate in relatively cold soil, allowing early sowing and retaining moisture in the upper soil layers. The hybrid's grain is orange-colored, with a 1000-seed mass of about 26 grams, containing 13% protein and 74% starch. The plant exhibits high heat tolerance, drought resistance, disease and pest resistance, including the biotype 'C' of aphids. Moreover, the hybrid has high resistance to lodging and contains no tannin, which improves grain quality.
Yutami is suitable for cultivation in a wide area and is used for grain, starch, and alcohol production. The recommended seeding rate is 120–180 thousand seeds per hectare. Due to its stability and adaptability, this hybrid ensures high yields and resistance to adverse conditions, making it a profitable choice for farmers.
