Nutritop Star — this is a sorghum-sudan hybrid of type BMR-6, representing the latest breeding development, intended for producing silage, green mass, hay, and haylage. This hybrid is included in the State Register for the North Caucasus region and is characterized by very late maturity. Due to the fact that in Russia the plant does not flower and does not enter the aging phase, it can be used until frost arrives, significantly extending the harvesting period. Plant height at the first cut reaches 0.8 meters and more, and the potential yield of green mass may reach up to 70 tons per hectare. The plant is characterized by strong anthocyanic coloring of seedlings, very long stems with succulent cores, and long leaves with green midribs. The panicle is upright, in the shape of an inverted pyramid, and the seeds are elliptical and light brown. Leafiness is 53.2%, which contributes to high feed value. Lignin content in the plant does not exceed 6%, sugars reach 18%, and protein content is 8-10%, making Nutritop Star especially nutritious for livestock. The hybrid is characterized by high adaptability to various stress factors, including drought, heat, and high soil pH. It is resistant to lodging and has plasticity, allowing successful cultivation in various soil-climatic conditions. Nutritop Star is suitable for obtaining various types of feed: green feed, hay, haylage, silage, and pasture. Combined use of this sorghum-sudan hybrid with corn extends the harvesting window and provides animals with a greater quantity of high-quality and nutritious feed.
