The average plant height is 160–170 cm, and the degree of branching allows achieving optimal sowing density: in areas with insufficient moisture – 40–45 thousand plants per hectare, in moderate zones – 35–40 thousand, and in areas with sufficient moisture – 30–35 thousand. Such an approach ensures maximum crop yield while maintaining quality.
For successful cultivation, NK Octan seeds are recommended for sowing in early autumn at air temperatures from +5 to +10 °C, adhering to soil moisture and fertility rules. In the fight against main diseases – fusarium, rust, and powdery mildew – biopreparations and strict care measures for the crop are applied. Thanks to these characteristics, the NK Octan variety ensures a stable high-quality oil yield without erucic acid and with a low level of glucosinolates.
