Sorghum variety "Samat" is a high-yielding and versatile crop widely used in feed production and grain farming. This crop is characterized by its high drought resistance, allowing successful cultivation under various climatic conditions, including regions of Ukraine. Sorghum is used to produce grain, green feed, hay, silage, and ensilage, making it an important component of the green conveyor and an effective source of nutrients for animals.
The vegetative period of sorghum ranges from 115 to 140 days, plant height varies from 60 to 200 cm. The weight of 1000 seeds reaches 28-30 grams, and the grain may be red or white. The potential yield is up to 120 ц/ha for grain and up to 900 ц/ha for silage, although actual yield usually falls within the range of 32-38 ц/ha. Sorghum variety "Samat" contains approximately 11% protein, up to 4.5% fat, and 79% carbohydrates, of which 70% is starch. The vitamin complex includes B-group vitamins (B1, B2, B4, B5, B6), PP and H, as well as macro- and microelements such as potassium, calcium, silicon, magnesium, sodium, sulfur, phosphorus, iron, zinc, and copper. The caloric content of the grain is 323 kcal.
