The Sorghum-Sudan hybrid Navigator is a mid-maturing agricultural crop developed to achieve high yields of green mass and grain. Plants of this hybrid reach a height of up to 280 cm, featuring an erect stem of medium thickness with high bushiness and foliage. The leaves are large, green, up to 80 cm long and about 6 cm wide, while the pyramidal pan reaches a length of up to 39 cm. The grain is round, enclosed in light-brown rachilla glumes. The hybrid is distinguished by good resistance to lodging and drought, as well as medium resistance to bacterial leaf spot, ensuring crop stability under various conditions. Navigator is adapted for cultivation in different climatic zones and is suitable for sowing in various regions. It possesses a high yield potential and is primarily used for fodder purposes, making it in demand in the agricultural sector. Hybrid seeds germinate well and develop, ensuring reliable formation of green mass and grain. Thanks to its resistance to diseases and pests, Navigator reduces the risk of yield losses and contributes to efficient agricultural production. Research conducted under various climatic conditions, including northwestern regions, has shown that the hybrid adapts well to weather changes, including cold, dry, and hot periods. Plant growth continues from May to September, with height reaching 220-250 cm during flowering. Green mass yield varies from 44 to 101 t/ha, while dry matter harvest is an average of 7.4 t/ha with high digestible energy and protein content. Navigator is recommended for cultivation for fodder purposes, especially in regions with a long light day and unstable thermal regime, ensuring stable and quality fodder raw materials.
