For cereal use.
Year of inclusion in the State Register of plant varieties suitable for propagation in Ukraine — 2013.
Recommended cultivation zone: Forest-steppe, Steppe. Since 2011, it undergoes state variety testing in the Central Chernozem region of the Russian Federation.
Originator — Institute of Plant Growing named after V. Ya. Yuryev, NAAN.
Variety distinguishing features. Variety — glauca. Medium-height plants (75-85 cm), semi-cylindrical shape with thick central stem, light-gray pubescence, white flowers, spherical seeds, light-yellow, hilum color matching the seed coat with an eyelet, 1000-seed mass — 140-150 g.
Biological characteristics. The variety belongs to the early-maturing group (vegetation period duration 90-95 days), exhibits enhanced drought resistance, resistance to lodging (8.0-9.0 points), seed shattering (8.0-9.0 points), pathogens and pests (8.0 points), well-adapted for mechanized harvesting. The variety can be used as a preceding crop for winter wheat.
Agronomic characteristics. Recommended seeding rate: 0.7-0.8 million viable seeds per hectare. Sowing method: conventional row or wide-row (row spacing 45 cm). Agronomic practices are standard for the cultivation zone.
In the competitive variety trials of the Institute of Plant Growing named after V. Ya. Yuryev (2007-2009), the yield of the variety was at the level of 1.65 t/ha. Maximum yields in 2010 were: in Polissia — 2.35 t/ha (Lviv Central Regional Seed Testing Station), in Forest-steppe — 2.97 t/ha (Vinnytsia Central Regional Seed Testing Station), in Steppe — 3.32 t/ha (Kiliya District Seed Station of Odessa Region). On the BASF test plot in Belgorod Region, the variety yielded 3.15 t/ha. In 2011, the highest yields were: in Polissia — 2.31 t/ha (Gorodenkivska District Seed Station), in Forest-steppe — 3.50 t/ha (Vinnytsia Central Regional Seed Testing Station), in Steppe — 2.78 t/ha (Konstantinovska District Seed Station of Donetsk Region). In 2012, in Kherson Region (Institute of Irrigated Agriculture), the yield was 3.05 t/ha. Potential yield 3.7-3.9 t/ha, protein content in seeds 39-40%, oil content 22-23%.
