SARATOVSKAYA 7

SARATOVSKAYA 7 is a winter rye variety developed using complex hybrid population methods at the Federal Agrarian Scientific Center of the South-East. It belongs to the steppe ecological group and is characterized by prismatic and elongated spindle-shaped ears of medium and above-average length with good grain filling. The grain is large, oval or oval-elongated, light gray-green in color with yellowish shades, with a 1000-grain weight varying from 32 to 45 grams. The leaves are wide, dark green, slightly hairy, with a strong waxy coating during the booting stage, and the plants exhibit good uniformity in height.

The variety is mid-season, with a vegetative period of 305 to 330 days. It possesses high winter hardiness and drought tolerance, making it competitive in various regions of Russia, including the Volga Region, Central Black Earth, Middle Volga, Lower Volga, and Urals. SARATOVSKAYA 7 is resistant to lodging and has a medium level of infection with brown rust, powdery mildew, and snow mold, while being highly susceptible to snow mold.

The main advantages of the variety include high yield, reaching 25.5–29.6 centners per hectare, as well as excellent technological and bread-making grain qualities corresponding to the first quality class. Due to these characteristics, SARATOVSKAYA 7 seeds are in high demand among farmers in the Saratov, Volgograd, Orenburg, and Tambov regions.
