Antares

Winter rye variety ANTARES® is a high-yielding and developmentally stable variety created for cultivation in various climatic conditions. It is characterized by a mid-late maturity period and medium plant height from 104 to 143 cm. The ear of the variety is prismatic, of medium length from 9.0 to 10.5 cm, with a density of 30-32%, light yellow in color, with semi-spreading yellow awns of medium and above-average length. The grain is oval-elongated, semi-open, light green in color with a mix of yellow grains, the number of grains per ear varies from 47 to 53 pieces, and the mass of 1000 grains ranges from 28 to 41 grams.

The ANTARES variety possesses high winter hardiness and drought resistance, ensuring its stable development and yield under complex weather conditions. The vegetative period lasts from 296 to 333 days, with maturity occurring 1-2 days earlier than the standard Bezenchukskaya 87. The variety's average yield reaches 30.1 centners per hectare, and under favorable conditions in the Predvolzhye and Zakamye regions of the Republic of Tatarstan, it can reach 47.2 centners per hectare, exceeding the indicators of standard varieties.

ANTARES is distinguished by its lodging resistance at the level of the Bezenchukskaya 87 variety and resistance to diseases such as powdery mildew, brown and yellow rusts. However, the variety shows susceptibility to snow mold and some other diseases. This intensive variety combines biological and morphological traits of the West European and steppe ecological groups, allowing it to maintain an optimal stem density throughout the vegetative period and ensure high and stable yield.
