Description Irtyshskaya
Irtyskaya is a mid-late winter rye variety, developed at the Omsk Agrarian Scientific Center and included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements of the Russian Federation since 2014 for the West Siberian and East Siberian regions. It is recommended for cultivation in the Altai Krai, the South Forest-Steppe zone of the Krasnoyarsk Krai, and is also successfully grown in the Republic of Khakasia and the Tyumen Region. The variety is distinguished by high winter hardiness, lodging resistance, and drought tolerance, which ensures stable productivity under various climatic conditions.

Irtyskaya is characterized by good baking qualities and high grain quality, forming 3rd class. The weight of 1000 grains ranges from 28.2 to 30.4 grams, while protein content, vitreousness, and grain natural moisture exceed standard indicators. Maximum yield of the variety reaches 6.7 tons per hectare, while average yield varies from 3.54 to 5.1 tons per hectare in different regions.

Despite weak resistance to powdery mildew and low resistance to brown rust and snow mold, the variety possesses high technicability and productivity. It is resistant to shattering, which facilitates harvest and reduces grain losses. Irtyskaya is a reliable choice for farmers aiming to obtain high-quality and stable winter rye yields in West and East Siberia.
