Description MOSCOW 15
Winter rye of the 'Moscow 15' variety is a medium-early diploid variety developed at the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Moscow Institute of Agricultural Sciences" "Nemchinovka". The pedigree of the variety is based on individual-family selection from a hybrid population involving the 'Valdai' variety and populations GK-75/81 and M-21-089. The plants are of medium height, ranging from 109 to 148 cm, with an intermediate bush and a dense horizontal spike of medium length. The grain is small or of medium size, with a mass of 1000 grains ranging from 30 to 38 g, and a dark aleurone layer color. The vegetative period lasts from 278 to 337 days, with maturation occurring simultaneously with the 'Valdai' standard. The variety is characterized by high winter hardiness, exceeding the average level, and drought resistance at the level of the 'Valdai' standard. Resistance to lodging is also higher compared to some varieties, ensuring crop stability. 'Moscow 15' is moderately resistant to brown rust and powdery mildew, but susceptible to snow mold. Under field conditions, infection by stem rust is minimal, confirming the reliability of the variety under various climatic conditions. The baking quality of the grain is satisfactory, with protein content at the level of the 'Volkhov' and 'Falevskaya 4' varieties, slightly lagging behind the 'Valdai' standard. The variety is recommended for cultivation in the Northwestern and Central regions of Russia, including the Leningrad and Bryansk regions. The average yield is 27.9 c/ha in the Northwestern region and 31.4 c/ha in the Central region, while the maximum yield reached 92.3 c/ha. 'Moscow 15' demonstrates stable indicators and high productivity, making it an attractive choice for agricultural enterprises focused on obtaining high-quality grain with good agronomic characteristics.
