AEG 340 — a mid-season hybrid of sweet corn with high yield potential, suitable for both grain and silage use. This hybrid is distinguished by its excellent lodging resistance and adaptability, allowing it to grow successfully in various climatic conditions, including challenging and drought-prone areas. Due to its resistance to major corn diseases and pests, AEG 340 ensures stable yields without additional costs for plant protection.

Plants of the hybrid reach a height of approximately 235-250 cm, with ear attachment height of 95-105 cm. The ears have good kernel fill, with row numbers ranging from 14 to 20, and kernels per row reaching 39-42. The 1000-kernel weight is 260-310 g. The vegetative period of the hybrid ranges from 114 to 123 days depending on the growing region, providing sufficient time for forming high-quality yields. Recommended sowing temperature — from +10 to +12 °C.

The hybrid demonstrates high drought tolerance, resistance to high solar radiation, and moderate cold tolerance. It is insensitive to infection by major diseases such as common and lethal rust, and is tolerant to pests including corn borer. AEG 340 is suitable for cultivation under various agronomic practices, including conventional, minimal tillage, and No-Tillage. Recommended seeding rates vary by region: for steppes — 40-45 thousand plants per hectare, for forest-steppe — 60-70 thousand, for Polissia — 75-85 thousand plants per hectare.
