Winter Rye Harley F1 is a high-yielding three-line hybrid recommended for cultivation in the Forest Steppe and Polissia regions. This medium-maturing variety has a vegetation period of 267 to 329 days and plant height ranging from 114 to 140 cm. The hybrid exhibits high resistance to lodging, shattering, and kernel breakage in the ear, as well as high frost and winter hardiness, rated at 8 points. Tolerance to major diseases ranges from 5 to 10%, ensuring stable yields under various conditions. The kernels of Harley F1 are large, oval, gray-green in color, with 1000-kernel weight varying from 32 to 40 g. Crude protein content ranges from 10.2 to 12.1%, making this hybrid suitable for producing grits and bread products with excellent quality characteristics. Kernel falling time is within 220-280 seconds, indicating high grain quality. The potential yield of the hybrid reaches 9.0–9.5 t/ha; to achieve maximum performance, it is recommended to plant the crop after favorable predecessors and follow a seeding rate of 3 to 5 million viable seeds per hectare with mandatory application of mineral fertilizers at N60P60K60 rates. A distinctive feature of the Harley F1 hybrid is its diallelic type and the necessity of spatial isolation of hybridization areas at a distance of 2000 m to maintain seed purity. Thanks to its combination of high yield, resistance to adverse factors, and superior grain quality, this variety is one of the most promising for cultivation in Ukraine and ensures stable production of high-quality grain.
