The DIAMANT rice variety is a medium-early variety created by individual selection from the hybrid combination Rapun/Pioneer. The vegetation period is 114-117 days, and plant height reaches 82-90 cm. The grain is white, round, with high hardness and 92-94% chalkiness. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 28 to 29 grams, and the yield of rice flour is up to 69-70%, with whole kernel content in the flour not less than 90%. The variety is characterized by average spikelet sterility of 12-16% and panicle density of 7-9 pieces per centimeter. The ratio of spikelet length to width is 1.9-2.0, which classifies it as a round-grained rice. DIAMANT is distinguished by high resistance to lodging and shattering, as well as medium resistance to Pyricularia and near-complete resistance to nematodes. The variety exhibits high growth rates in the initial development period and is characterized by enhanced grain hardness. It is not demanding on soil quality and is best cultivated using energy-saving technologies. The potential yield of the variety reaches 9-10 tons per hectare, confirmed by maximum yield indicators of up to 114.7 centners per hectare under favorable conditions. DIAMANT rice is recommended for use in the canning and confectionery industries due to the fluffy texture of the flour and high content of whole grains. Its nutritional value is high, making this variety a valuable food product. The variety is especially suitable for cultivation in the West-Delta region of the Krasnodar Krai, where it demonstrates stable and high yields.
