Rice Mutant 428

Stability and Performance

"Mutant 428" is a breeding achievement from the Rice Institute of NAAS Ukraine, specifically designed for growers seeking a mid-ripening variety with predictable outcomes. With a vegetation period of 105–110 days, this variety fits perfectly into standard crop rotation schedules, avoiding the risks associated with late-season weather deterioration. It is engineered exclusively for high-quality grain production, ensuring maximum marketable yield under optimal management.

Agronomic Management

The high water consumption potential of Mutant 428 is a critical factor for field management. This variety demands precise control of irrigation, making it an ideal choice for producers with well-established water infrastructure. A recommended seeding density of 6–7 million seeds per hectare facilitates the development of a robust stand that effectively resists lodging.

• Biological Resilience: Built-in genetic tolerance to rice blast (Pyricularia) significantly reduces the need for heavy fungicide applications throughout the growing season.
• Pest Protection: Resistance to the common cereal aphid allows for minimal insecticide use, helping to preserve the beneficial ecosystem within the rice paddies.

Is this variety for you?

Mutant 428 is not for low-input farming. It is a professional-grade tool for growers prepared to invest in water management and nutrition to maximize milling quality. If your goal is to supply processing facilities with premium, uniform grain, this variety provides the stable foundation you need.
