CORSICA is a late-maturing variety of long-grain rice (Oryza sativa L.), distinguished by its high quality. It belongs to the Gilanica group and is characterized by the absence or very weak awning of the penultimate leaf blade, as well as the absence of anthocyanin pigmentation on the hull. The plant stem is of medium length, the panicle is of medium length and long with strong or very strong bending of the main axis. The threshed grain is long and spindle-shaped, with a 1000-grain weight ranging from 24 to 27 grams. The vegetative period ranges from 120 to 139 days, which classifies the variety as late-maturing. The CORSICA variety exhibits high resistance to lodging and shattering, ensuring crop stability. Average yield in the Krasnodar Krai reaches 87.2 centners per hectare, with a maximum of 98.8 centners per hectare, corresponding to the Kurazh standard level. Technological and culinary characteristics of the variety are excellent, making it in demand for various culinary purposes. Additionally, the variety is resistant to pyricularia, although medium levels of infection may be observed when grown after multi-year grasses. CORSICA rice is recommended for cultivation in Krasnodar Krai and the North Caucasus region, where it demonstrates high productivity and quality. Thanks to its characteristics, it is suitable for cultivation in the conditions of this region and can be used both for industrial production and for home consumption, providing a high-quality product with excellent taste and technological properties.
