DOKUCHAEVSKIY® spring pea is a new mid-season variety created through years of breeding work at the V.V. Dokuchaev Voronezh State Agroindustrial Scientific Center (VVSFANC). This variety was developed using multi-step hybridization followed by individual selection, combining high yield with enhanced resistance to abiotic stress factors. DOKUCHAEVSKIY has an average stem height, a bearded leaf type, a many-branched branching type, smooth grain, and a pink color, making it attractive to the agro-industry and agriculture.
The variety successfully passed state variety trials and is recommended for cultivation in the Central-Black Earth and North Caucasus regions. During trials, it showed significant yield superiority over the standard variety Fokor, exceeding it by 13.8% (0.27 t/ha). The main factor of high productivity is an increased number of grains per pod — an average of 4.7 grains, which is 20.5% more than the standard. Additionally, the variety is characterized by early maturation, ripening 5-7 days earlier than the Fokor variety, which helps reduce the load on harvesting operations.
DOKUCHAEVSKIY is resistant to adverse weather conditions and stresses, ensuring stable productivity even in extreme years. Thanks to its characteristics and adaptability, this pea variety is a reliable choice for growing in various climatic zones, providing high yields and grain quality, which is important for grain and fodder use.
