Radish Tefi

Maximizing Yield: The Efficiency of Tefi Radish

For agricultural producers seeking to capitalize on late-season vegetable demand, the Tefi variety from Nasko offers a strategic advantage. Characterized by a 70–80 day vegetation cycle, this is not a quick-turnover spring radish, but a robust crop engineered for autumn harvesting and extended storage potential.

Field Performance and Economic Value

The primary advantage of Tefi lies in its size and structural integrity. With individual roots reaching 200–250 grams, this variety is designed for high-efficiency harvesting. Its uniform, round shape is not just a visual benefit; it is a logistical asset that simplifies cleaning, grading, and packaging processes for large-scale operations.

Operational Advantages:

• Post-Harvest Longevity: The dense white flesh is resistant to common storage issues, allowing growers to hold the product for market windows when fresh radish supply is typically low.
• Flexible Crop Rotation: Due to its late-maturing profile, Tefi can be slotted into the post-harvest period after early-maturing summer crops, maximizing land utilization.
• Market Readiness: The consistent white coloration and substantial mass make it a premium product for both local markets and wholesale distribution channels.

From an agronomical standpoint, Tefi rewards uniform irrigation management. To reach the 250-gram target weight consistently, fields must maintain consistent moisture levels during the final 20 days of maturation. By managing plant density effectively, producers can ensure that every square meter of land produces marketable, high-weight tonnage that stands out in the marketplace.
