BATAYSKI

The Batayski eggplant variety represents a mid-season, compact plant with a height ranging from 45 to 73 cm. The fruits have a cylindrical shape, measuring 12 to 19.5 cm in length and 4.5-8 cm in diameter, with a weight from 140 to 220 g. Their color at technical maturity varies from dark purple to black, with a glossy surface. The fruit flesh is white, of medium density, free from cavities and bitterness, which makes them particularly attractive for culinary use.

The variety is distinguished by simultaneous fruit ripening, which ensures a stable and abundant harvest, sufficient for preparing various dishes and preserves. The absence of thorns on the fruit calyx facilitates harvesting and cleaning of the crop. Additionally, Batayski eggplants possess excellent storage and transportability, allowing them to maintain quality during storage and transportation.

This variety was bred at the Crimean Experimental and Breeding Station of the All-Russian Research Institute of Plant Breeding and is characterized by high yield. The fruits are suitable for canning and processing, which expands their application possibilities. However, the variety is prone to fusarium wilt, which requires attention during cultivation and plant care.
