Radish KARMINA

Field experience: Karmina radish from Semo

When it comes to vegetable production, choosing seeds from Semo is always a bet on reliability. This is not just a typical small radish; it is a full-fledged white, cone-shaped radish that delivers a marketable product that is easy to sell.

Crop performance and harvesting insights

For those managing the crop, it is important to know that these roots typically reach a mass of 50 to 100 grams, making them ideal for standard packaging. Harvesting is straightforward: the cone shape allows for efficient pulling with minimal loss, provided the soil moisture is well-maintained.

• Growing period: consistently covers spring and summer crop rotations.
• Yield stability: with proper agronomy, the majority of the crop falls within the 50–100g range.
• Market quality: the pure white color without greening at the top is crucial for shelf appeal.

Crop maintenance boils down to regular irrigation and monitoring for flea beetles, which can be an issue with white radish. However, Semo’s Karmina has impressive seedling vigor, allowing the plant to bypass critical development stages faster. Its storage qualities are predictable—the flesh is dense and crisp, proving the high quality of the Czech breeding program.
