Description KESIA
KESIA is a high-yield hybrid eggplant variety developed by Rijk Zwaan, intended for protected cultivation, primarily in light culture conditions. The plant is late-maturing, of umbel type with a spreading form; it has a stem with anthocyanin coloring and very sparse pubescence, making it hypoallergenic and compliant with the CleanLeaf concept. The leaf blade is of medium size with moderate waviness and weak crinkliness.

KESIA fruits have a pear shape with a rounded apex and are colored dark purple without ridges. The average fruit weight is about 339 grams, and the length is from 16 to 20 cm. Fruits are dense, storable, and glossy, with a smooth bright green calyx, on which thorns are absent or present only insignificantly. The eggplant flesh has a greenish tint and a high tasting score, confirming its excellent taste qualities.

The KESIA variety is suitable for cultivation in various climatic conditions, especially in high glass greenhouses, ensuring a stable commercial yield of up to 64.9 kg per square meter. Due to its characteristics and qualities, this eggplant is ideal for packaging on a substrate and further realization, making it an attractive choice for commercial cultivation and sales.
