The winter soft wheat variety "Odesska Beauty" is a modern, versatile variety developed at the Selection-Genetic Institute of UAAN and registered in the State Register of Ukraine. It is intended for cultivation in the steppe zone and successfully adapts to the conditions of the forest-steppe and Polissia. The variety is characterized by high yield, which in variety trials reached 6.9 to 10.2 t/ha, exceeding national standards by 8.2–17.4%. The maximum yield under production conditions was 8.3 t/ha. "Odesska Beauty" exhibits intensive growth and development in the autumn period, along with the ability to quickly and repeatedly harden, ensuring high resistance to late sowing and competitiveness against weeds. Morphologically, the variety is a tall plant, 102–109 cm in height, with a large pyramidal white ear 11.3–11.8 cm long, containing 62–68 grains. The grain is large, red, weighing 43.2–45.8 g per 1000 grains, with high protein (12.5–13.7%) and gluten (28–33%) content, ensuring high-quality flour with strength of 355–395 arbitrary units. The vegetation period is 285–287 days; the variety heads and ripens 1–2 days later than the Antonivka variety. Productive tillering is high — 4.2–5.3 stems per plant, contributing to stable yield. The variety has increased frost and winter hardiness (8–9 points) and high drought and heat resistance (9 points), making it resistant to adverse climatic conditions. It is resistant to major fungal diseases, including brown rust, stem rust, powdery mildew, septoria, pyrenophora, and fusarium, with resistance ratings of 5–8 points. "Odesska Beauty" demonstrates stable yield across various agronomic backgrounds, effectively utilizes low to medium nitrogen fertilizer rates (60–90 kg N/ha), and is suitable for cultivation following non-traditional predecessors such as sunflower, rapeseed, mustard, and flax, expanding its application in intensive farming technologies.
