LG Gelik

LG Gelik wheat is a mid-early, glumeless type variety developed by the German company Limagrain. This variety is characterized by high protein content (around 13%) and gluten (23%), providing excellent baking qualities. Plants are of medium height — from 80 to 90 cm, with high spike density and 1000-grain weight ranging from 43-45 g, contributing to stable yields.

LG Gelik is adapted for cultivation in various climatic zones of Ukraine, including steppe, forest-steppe, and polissya. It demonstrates high drought tolerance and winter hardiness, enabling successful adaptation to adverse weather conditions. Additionally, the variety shows high tolerance to major wheat diseases such as septoria, yellow and brown rust, and also exhibits high resistance to lodging.

Recommended sowing rates vary depending on planting time: 3.7 million/ha for early sowings, 4 million/ha for mid-season sowings, and 4.5 million/ha for late sowings. Thanks to its agronomic traits and quality parameters, LG Gelik is a reliable choice for farmers aiming to achieve high-quality and stable wheat yields across various regions.
