LG LITOPYS — medium-early winter wheat, non-awned, characterized by high yield and stable grain quality. This variety was developed by Limagrain in Germany and adapted for cultivation in various climatic zones of Ukraine, including steppe, forest-steppe, and pole regions. Plants are medium-height, reaching 80-90 cm, with high spike density and 1000-grain weight ranging from 43-45 g. Sowing rates vary depending on sowing time: from 3.7 million/ha for early to 4.5 million/ha for late sowing.
The variety is characterized by high protein content (about 13%) and gluten content (about 23%), ensuring high grain quality and making it attractive for the bakery industry. LG LITOPYS exhibits high resistance to major wheat diseases, including leaf septoria, yellow and brown rust, powdery mildew, and Fusarium head blight, with resistance ratings of 7-8 out of 9. Additionally, the variety demonstrates high drought tolerance (up to 9 out of 9), winter hardiness, and resistance to lodging, enabling successful cultivation under minimum soil tillage practices.
Thanks to its adaptive traits and resistance to adverse factors, LG LITOPYS is suitable for intensive cultivation in central and southern regions of Ukraine. The variety is recommended for medium-early and medium-late sowing dates, providing flexibility in agronomic practices. High productivity, grain quality, and resistance to stress make LG LITOPYS a profitable choice for farmers seeking a stable and high-quality wheat harvest.
